Telugu – A Culture

Telugu is my Mother Tongue. I was lucky to have born to a telugu family and learned this language. Brought up in a village, imbibing high Telugu social & cultural values. Lived in different parts of India for past 30 years, and got introduced to many cultures, rituals and languages. Am amazed that every culture is as beautiful as others. Telugu is more closer to my heart as I get to compare with rest, and also because was brought up in that environment. Everyone loves their Mother-Tongue, but Telugu is special – it is “Sweetest Language of Southern India”. Very close to Sanskrit. Influence of Telugu is so high on South Indian culture that all three greatest composers of South Indian classical music (the critical cultural aspect of South India) – Thyagaraja Swami, Shyaama Sastry, Muthu Swami Deekshitulu, did their Major compositions and works in Telugu. Of-course they have compositions in Sanskrit and Tamil too. The greatest South Indian ruler Sri Krishna Devaraya once said “Of all Languages, Telugu is greatest”.
